I needed some fresh ideas for my daughters sixteenth birthday party. I was told by my friend that a good place for accessories was online where she got the supplies for her daughters party. So I decided to give it a try. It was surprising to find so many ideas for party supplies for the tables and little gifts. I ran across some pretty neat ideas for her birthday celebration. I found these cute little cookie cutters in the shape of the number 16 and use it to make cookies for the party.

I talked to my daughter and got her views on what type of party she wanted to have, and she decided on a roller skating and slumber birthday party. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Then I invited all of her best girl friends. It didn’t cost as much as I thought it would. They offered pizza, hot dogs and soft drinks at a very reasonable price. The party was to continue at our house after the skating, so I had to get everything ready. I decorated the house with birthday accessories,laid out snacks and put my sweet 16 cookies, I made, on the tables.

The cookie cutters wasn’t the only thing I ordered online. Since I saved money on the roller rink deal, I decided it would be nice to get the girls a few sweet sixteen favors. I ordered some adorable pink photo albums for all the girls, and disposable cameras for them to take pictures of the party. Everyone got a camera before we went to the roller rink party, but no one got an album until later that evening. I’m glad they only took a few pictures at the skating rink, so they would be able to take pictures of the sleepover too.

Another party favor was a cosmetic bag with their first initial printed on the front. The cosmetic bags were just the beginning, I also bought manicure sets and purse mirrors for each of the girls. I also sat out these adorable little favor boxes I bought online that were filled with candies for each guest. As soon as we got home, we celebrated with a sweet sixteen party favor with cake and ice cream and she opened all of her presents. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. They danced for a while, then they gave each other manicures with their new sets, and of course, they did the make up thing. From all the noise and laughing you knew they were having the time of their lives.

After they tired themselves out, they decided to put on a movie and grab the popcorn. I tried to stay out of their way as much as possible and just let them have a good time, but they asked me if I wanted to watch a movie with them. It made me feel good that they wanted to include me. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. All that was left was my daughter and I, at least for a few minutes. Just before she closed her eyes, she let me know how much she appreciated her super birthday party.

They ate breakfast and cleaned up everything left from the birthday party before I even got out of bed. I thought that was very thoughtful of them to do that for me. Most of the girls went home after a couple hours of hanging out with my daughter. They told me they had a super time and they thought the sweet sixteen party favors were really cool. It’s really neat being considered a cool mom.

I then made reservations at the roller rink in town. Next, came the invitations for all of her closest girl friends. It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. I ordered more than the cookie cutters when I went shopping online. Since this birthday party wasn’t costing me what I thought it would, I decided to order a few sweet sixteen favors for the girls. Each of the girls got a disposable camera to take pictures of this evenings event and a pink photo album to store them in. They all knew about the cameras, so they could take pictures at the roller rink, but they had no clue about the albums I bought for them. They all took a few pictures at the rink and wanted to save some film for the slumber party they were having afterwards.

One of the favors was a cosmetic bag that had each girls initial on the front button. Along with that I also bought compact mirrors and manicure sets that matched their bags. I also sat out these adorable little favor boxes I bought online that were filled with candies for each guest. We left the rink and went home to have her sweet sixteen party and watch her open her presents. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. They danced for a while, then they gave each other manicures with their new sets, and of course, they did the make up thing. They were having a lot of fun together.

Just before she closed her eyes, she let me know how much she appreciated her super birthday party.

When I got up in the morning the girls were already downstairs and had eaten, then straightened up everything from the party. I thought that was very thoughtful of them to do that for me. They hung around with my daughter for a couple of hours, then the kids started heading for home. They told me they had a super time and they thought the sweet 16 favors were really cool. So, I guess that makes me a cool mom, hey?
